This tool is a really good image editor to help you clear various unwanted linear objects from your digital photos. When taking a snap of monuments, buildings, birds, etc. outside, it is likely that you end up with wires, poles or antennas getting in the way. You will find this tool highly useful to enhance the final appearance of your shots.
The tool reviewed here is the Lite, free version of Wire Pilot, which is also available as Standard. The main difference between them is that this Lite version works only with objects that appear over plain backgrounds. When the background is made up of complex shapes and colors, you will need “Smart Patch”, which is only available in the standard version of this tool. However, it includes other very good features, such as brightness and contrast correction, rotate and flip, resize, crop, and so on. Brightness and contrast include auto-correction options, which would automatically enhance your photo in just one click.
This tool can also work as a Photoshop plug-in. Wire Pilot Lite is compatible with Windows Vista, XP, 2000 and ME, and still has a few operational bugs when run under Windows 7. Note that this version of the program will only allow you to save your corrected files in TPI format.
- Clears wires and other linear objects without changing the background
